A Gentle, Powerful Path For Healing
Brainspotting is a brain and body-based therapy that allows us to work beneath the surface, without requiring you to explain or analyze everything in words. Together, we identify a place in your visual field that connects you more deeply to what you’re feeling and holding internally.
As we stay with that point, your body begins to access and process the deeper emotional material connected to it. These “brainspots” are found through subtle cues in the body and your internal awareness, allowing us to follow your nervous system’s wisdom rather than forcing insight from the outside.
WHAT IS BRAINSPOTTING
-
An Effective & Proven Tool
Brainspotting is a focused, body-based approach that helps process and release trauma held in the nervous system. It can be integrated into talk therapy or used on its own. I’ve seen it reach places that words alone often cannot—allowing deep healing to unfold with surprising efficiency.
-
A Breakthrough in Trauma Healing
Overwhelming experiences can leave lasting imprints in the brain and body. Brainspotting helps us access where those experiences are stored by identifying a specific point in your visual field. From there, your system can begin gently processing what once felt stuck.
-
A Sustainable Way Forward
Brainspotting doesn’t erase your story. It softens the emotional intensity connected to it. By reducing the intensity, we gain more control, which helps us more easily make the changes we have been trying to make all along. Some concerns may shift quickly, while deeper wounds take time. We move at a pace that honors your nervous system, creating lasting balance.

When you’ve tried everything else…
Why Brainspotting Works
Brainspotting is excellent for people who feel like they have tried all types of therapy, but still aren’t getting the results they are looking for. These traumas and maladaptive behaviors are stored deep in the body, and until we are using a therapy that provides access to those areas, you’ll stay stuck. If you’re seeking lasting change, Brainspotting might be your answer.

FAQs
BRAINSPOTTING
-
Brainspotting is a focused, relational therapy that helps you access and process emotional experiences stored in the brain and body.
It’s said in Brainspotting, “Where you look affects how you feel.” Brainspotting uses your visual field as a doorway into deeper healing. By finding a specific eye position connected to what you’re experiencing, we’re able to access the parts of the brain where trauma and emotional pain are held.
From there, your system can begin to process and integrate what has felt overwhelming—bringing greater calm, clarity, and connection
Unlike other trauma modalities, this integration creates lasting change by clearing out stored emotion and making space for the brain to create new and more positive neuropathways. -
It is helpful to bring an emotional struggle that you want to process, but it is not necessary. All you need to do is bring an open mind.
-
We begin by exploring what feels most present for you and what you would like to focus on. You are invited to share only what feels comfortable. Brainspotting does not require you to explain everything in detail.
Together, we will notice your level of activation and, when you feel ready, I will guide you in finding a specific point in your visual field called a brainspot that connects to what you are holding internally. As you rest your gaze there, you simply notice what arises, whether thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations, allowing your nervous system to process at its own pace.
Before we end, we will check in again and leave space for reflection. I will also make sure you feel grounded and steady before you leave the session.
-
Every person’s experience is unique, and it can vary from session to session, even when focusing on the same topic. During a session, you may notice thoughts, memories, images, emotions, or physical sensations. These experiences often shift in intensity as your nervous system processes.
Some people feel calm or relieved afterward. Others may feel tired, which is a natural response to deeper emotional work.
-
Brainspotting works with deeper parts of the brain and nervous system than traditional talk therapy. While talk therapy relies primarily on conversation and insight, Brainspotting does not require you to talk through everything in order to heal.
In a Brainspotting session, we use your visual field, a pointer, and sometimes biolateral sound to help your body access and process stored experiences. Rather than focusing on changing thoughts, we follow your body’s cues and allow your nervous system to guide the healing process.
-
Clients report feeling lighter, less burdened, and more clear about the original issue with the biggest positive shifts happening about a week or two after, once the brain has had time to fully integrate the work we did.
Brainspotting is a workout for the brain, so there is a chance you might feel tired. It works on the deep layers of the emotional brain, so clients might feel a bit raw or vulnerable. However, both of these should wear off within 24-48 hours.
